Torquay is delighted to announce the signing of former Bangladeshi Test all-rounder, Sajedul Islam, for their 2021 Devon League campaign.
Domestic sensation
Islam is a high-class pace bowling all-rounder who has lorded Bangladeshi domestic cricket for well over a decade.
Since his first-class debut in 2005, the left-arm quick has taken 300 plus wickets and scored over 2,000 runs from the middle-lower order.
In his prime, he played 3 Tests and a solitary T20I for Bangladesh between 2008 and 2013, however, despite not featuring since he remains a key performer in domestic cricket.
Overseas aspirations
A genuine left-arm swing bowler and hard-hitting batter, Islam is now looking to play global T10/T20 competitions, alongside UK league cricket from 2021 onwards.
He was due to make his English club debut in 2020, having signed with Devon club Torquay prior to COVID. Given travel was not an option, both parties have deferred the agreement to next summer.
With his impressive domestic record and all-round skill set, Islam will be quite the handful in the Devon League in 2021.
