Tynedale is delighted to announce the signing of Indian all-rounder Ram Gurung for their upcoming North East Premier League season.
Gurung is an exciting all-rounder who has burst onto the Ranji Trophy scene this summer.
The Meghalaya star struck a sensational hundred (132) from the number 3 spot on his Ranji debut (Jan 2024), then two games later, bagged figures of 6-15 with his skilful seam-up.
Gurung had previously made his white ball debuts for Meghalaya toward the back-end of the 2021 calendar year, but had to wait over 2-years for his first-class debut. It’s fair to say the wait has been worth it.
On debut against Arunachal Pradesh he would score 132, then produce figures of 3-55 in his second match v Hyderabad. Roll on his third, and he would take out 6 of the top 8 batters (including 3 clean bowled) to record figures of 6-15 against Nagaland.
The genuine all-rounder is quite the prospect who now aspires to progress to higher honours. For now, though, he is set to head abroad in the close season having signed with Tynedale for their 2024 North East Premier League campaign.
