Napier Old Boys Marist have signed in-form English run machine Jamie Crawley for their 2022/23 Hawkes Bay Cricket Association campaign.

Crawley is an exciting top-order batter from the Wirral, in Lancashire, currently playing for Wallasey CC (Liverpool League), and Durham 2nd XI (County 2nd XI Championship).

The Scottish native has hit his straps in recent years and is now pushing for full County honours. In 2021, Crawley racked up 1,052 in all competitions for Wallasey, averaging 47.82 including a match-winning century (108) in the Ray Digman Trophy (T20 Competition).

In the same season, Crawley represented the Eastern Knights in Scotland’s 50-over Regional Competition. He broke all sorts of records throughout the summer, including the highest individual score in the competition when blasting 206 from only 144 balls against Caledonian Highlanders. Unsurprisingly, Crawley ended the tournament as the leading run-scorer and the Scottish selectors’ interest. Crawley now aspires to break into the County (Durham), and National (Scotland) fold.

The young run machine is an exciting prospect, who is set to head down under this winter having recently signed with Napier Old Boys Marist for their 2022/23 Hawkes Bay Cricket Association campaign. Crawley will head to New Zealand having already enjoyed a productive stint in Australia (Western Australia Cricket Association) for Claremont Nedlands in 2018/19 (464 runs at 24.42).
