Werrington is delighted to announce the signing of Sri Lankan run machine Thulina Dilshan for their 2024 Cornwall Premier League campaign.
Dilshan is a fearless opening batter who has dominated Sri Lankan first-class cricket in recent seasons.
After breaking into the Sri Lanka Army Sports Club side in 2018/19, and an underwhelming 2019/20 campaign, Dilshan has been a revelation post-COVID.
In his 4 outings in 2020, he struck his maiden century (116*) amongst 212 runs at 35.33. Roll on the 2022/23 season and the destructive opener would strike three further centuries (166 v Panadura, 111 v Badureliya, and 112* v Chilaw Marians) to finish the season with 683 runs at 40.17.
This summer (2023/24), Dilshan has moved to Sebastianites Cricket And Athletic Club where he continues to excel. At the point of writing, he has belted 1.026 runs at 28.50 with 4 centuries, and just the 1 fifty. However, as you can see his numbers are clearly on the rise courtesy of his initial breakthrough season (2020), and his barnstorming 2022/23 campaign.
Dilshan, who also bowls regular leg-spin, has clearly hit his straps and looks set for a bright future. In a view to progressing in the game, he’s set to embark on his maiden UK stint having signed with Werrington for their 2024 Cornwall Premier League campaign.
