Avinash Yadav is a seasoned left-arm spinner currently representing Mizoram, having spent the bulk of his career as a mainstay in the Railways side in India’s premier domestic competition, the Ranji Trophy.
With 117 first-class wickets in 38 matches (at 29.83) and over 900 runs, Yadav has consistently delivered with both ball and bat. His standout season came in 2018/19 when he topped the Group A wicket charts with 41 scalps at 26.70, including three five-wicket hauls — a performance that placed him among the top 10 bowlers across the entire Ranji Trophy that year.
After a brief lull and the COVID-hit seasons, Yadav roared back in 2022/23 with 33 wickets at 20.15, four five-wicket hauls, a 10-wicket match, and his maiden first-class century. A former India U19 representative (alongside the likes of Irfan Pathan and Piyush Chawla), he’s been a fixture in Indian domestic cricket since 2012/13.
Overseas, he’s been just as effective. In England, he’s dominated the Liverpool League — first with Wigan (62 wickets at 6.60 in 2019) and more recently with Lytham and Wigan again (64 and 74 wickets in 2023 and 2024, respectively). In 2025, he made a move south to Saffron Walden in the Cambs and Hunts Premier League, where he shone yet again with 40 wickets at 11.03.
A proven match-winner and one of the finest left-arm spin professionals around, Yadav is eyeing a European return for the 2026 season.
