Hasaranga initially broke into domestic cricket for Sri Lanka Navy Sports Club with whom he often skippered. After a strong maiden season (2012/13) hitting 531 runs at 33.18, he then headed down under where he featured for the likes of East Keilor, Aberfeldie Park, St Albans, and Druids, before returning to Sri Lankan first-class in 2023/24.
The Sri Lankan batting all-rounder has enjoyed plenty of success in domestic cricket, particularly in the first-class format hitting season tallies of 570 runs at 47.50 (2016/17), 572 runs at 47.66 (2017/18), and 233 runs at 29.12 (2023/24).
Whilst known predominantly for his batting, Hasaranga is a talented keeper and spinner who has 13 domestic wickets to his name. The veteran Sri Lankan all-rounder is now eager to experience a UK summer and is a player that comes highly recommended.
