Chanuka Dilshan is a hugely talented left-arm spinner playing for Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.
Prior to his move to KYCC over the past summer (2023/24), he was one of Moors' stand-out performers. During the SLC Major Clubs Limited Overs Tournament (July 2022), he bagged 26 wickets at 11.73 to top his side's wicket-charts, all with an economy rate of 3.25 per over.
To date, after 33 List A matches, Dilshan has now taken 62 wickets at 14.91, which represents statistically some of the best figures in Sri Lankan white ball cricket.
In the first-class format, the spinner has enjoyed similar success 66 wickets at 27.83 in 20 matches, including 21 at 20.66 during the 2022/23 season.
The left-arm tweaker really is a quality prospect who has impressed in UK club cricket too. He has enjoyed two stints in the Sussex League, initially for Rye (28 wickets at 11.93) before a switch to Slinfold 48 wickets at 13). Last summer (2024) he also evidenced his batting ability chalking up 404 runs at 22.44 for good measure.
Dilshan, who is also an accredited coach, is now looking for another opportunity in 2025 and is someone that comes highly recommended.
