Chanuka Dilshan is yet another talented Sri Lankan left-arm spinner looking to showcase his skills abroad.

If he can replicate the success of fellow SLA compatriots, and CricX stars Navin Kavikara, Tharindu Ratnayake, Sudara Dakshina, and Gayan Sirisoma, he’ll be some signing for any club abroad.

Dilshan, who plays for Moors Sports Club, alongside Test wrist spinner Praveen Jayawickrama, was one of the stars of the recently concluded SLC Major Clubs Limited Overs Tournament (July 2022).

The left-arm bagged 26 wickets at 11.73 to top his sides wicket charts, and enjoyed an economy rate of only 3.25 per over.

After 29 List A matches, Dilshan has now taken 55 wickets at 15.21, which represents statistically some of the best figures in Sri Lankan white ball cricket.

In the first-class format, the spinner has enjoyed similar success with 41 wickets at 29.46 in his 10 matches prior to COVID.

Dilshan's rise in the domestic game has come as no surprise, though, having bagged figures of 5-75, and 3-63, on debut.

The left-arm tweaker really is a quality prospect who is now seeking his maiden stint abroad, whether that's in Australasia, the UK, or both.
