Dushan Vimukthi

Dushan Vimukthi is a proven off-spin bowling all-rounder and one of the standout performers in Sri Lankan domestic cricket. Since making his first-class debut in 2014, he has built a formidable record with both bat and ball, showcasing his class across a variety of formats and conditions.

A seasoned campaigner, Vimukthi has represented a string of top-tier Sri Lankan clubs, including Chilaw Marians, Sebastianites, Saracens, Moors, and the Sri Lanka Army, among others. Across 85 first-class matches, he has racked up 3,446 runs at 26.30, including four centuries, and claimed 271 wickets at 24.56 — with eight five-wicket hauls and four ten-wicket match performances to his name. His List A numbers are equally impressive: 1,588 runs at 33.78 and 81 wickets at 20.29, underlining his all-round value and reliability.

A go-to bowler who often opens the attack with his tight, attacking off-spin, Vimukthi is known for his control, flight, and ability to extract turn even on flat surfaces. With the bat, he’s a genuine middle-order contributor capable of shifting gears depending on the match situation.

His domestic dominance has translated seamlessly into success overseas. In 2022, Vimukthi played a pivotal role in Monton’s Championship title-winning season in the Greater Manchester Cricket League, amassing 999 runs and 76 wickets in all competitions — including 895 runs at 47.11 and 71 wickets at a staggering 10.13 in league play. While his 2023 season was slightly quieter with the bat, he still finished among the top wicket-takers.

In 2024, he took his talents to the Bradford League with Townville and was widely considered one of the best overseas professionals in UK club cricket that summer. He hammered 1,431 runs at 55.04, including three centuries, and captured 83 wickets at 16.37 — performances that helped drive the club to a top-three league finish and a T20 regional quarter-final.

His 2025 season in the Lancashire League with Walsden has only reaffirmed his reputation. By August 1st, he had already posted 580 runs at 34.12 and taken 42 wickets at 17.55 — form that prompted the club to swiftly re-sign him for the 2026 season.
