Hashan Dumindu is a high-quality top-order batter and occasional off-spinner currently playing for the star-studded Colts Cricket Club in Sri Lanka’s domestic circuit.
A former captain of Saracens SC, Dumindu made the switch to Colts in 2022/23, joining a side packed with international talent including Angelo Mathews, Akila Dananjaya, and Dunith Wellalage, alongside fellow CricX clients Sangeeth Cooray and Priyamal Perera.
Since making his domestic debut in 2015, Dumindu has established himself as a consistent performer across all formats, with over 6,000 runs, 11 centuries, and a batting average in the mid-30s. He first caught national attention with a standout century at the 2014 ICC Under-19 World Cup — Sri Lanka’s only hundred of the tournament — and followed it with a prolific debut season for Colombo Cricket Club, hitting 645 runs at 35.83, including an unbeaten 150. His 2015/16 campaign pushed him further into the spotlight with 560 first-class runs at 50.90 and an average nearing 50 in List A cricket, earning selection for the Sri Lankan Emerging Players and Board President’s XI.
While a brief dip followed in 2017/18, highlighted by a career-best 168* and a maiden List A ton, Dumindu quickly regained form, continuing to produce solid domestic returns. His red-ball resurgence came in 2022, with 377 runs at 53.85 in the National Super Provincial 4-Day Tournament for Galle.
Dumindu is also a seasoned UK professional with five successful league seasons under his belt. He has excelled for Barnard Castle in the ECB Premier Division of the NYSD League and for Tonge CC in both the Bolton and North West Cricket Leagues. For Tonge (2021, 2023-25) he has scored 4037 runs @ 45.36 & 220 wickets @ 14.38 (as of August 8).
A proven performer at home and abroad, Dumindu brings a wealth of experience with 81 First-Class and 70 List A matches to his name and remains a high-value prospect for clubs seeking a reliable, well-rounded professional.
