Mohamed Dilshad is a very promising left-arm quick playing in Sri Lankan domestic cricket. In recent years, he has represented Sri Lanka A and played in the Premier League Tournament (Tier A) for Saracens Sports Club and for Galle District in the Super Four Provincial Tournament (first-class).

For the latter, he played alongside the likes of international players Dusan Shanaka, Roshen Silva, Chathuranga De Silva, and Sadeera Samarawickrama and for Saracens, he rubs shoulders with a number of fellow CricX stars, including the likes of Gamindu Kanishka, Ashen Bandara, and Ranitha Liyanarachchi, to name but a few.

Dilshad made his List A debut, initially for Panadura Sports Club in December 2012, before making his first-class debut in February 2013. His maiden season was underwhelming, taking 8 wickets at 41.75. However, an outstanding Under-23 Tournament for Panadura (17 wickets at 12.88) later that year caught the attention of Badureliya Sports Club who recruited him for the 2014/15 season.

His move proved a successful one, as the left-arm seamer captured 34 wickets at 23.35 in the top tier of Sri Lankan domestic cricket, to include best bowling figures of 7-54. Dilshad made such an impression that he was rewarded with Sri Lankan A selection and he toured England, playing two matches (against Derbyshire and England Lions) in July 2016.

He returned to domestic cricket in 2016/17, this time for Saracens Sports Club, but outings were limited, which resulted in 6 wickets at 27.33. However, he turned things around in 2017/18 taking 20 wickets at 29.75 to justify his selection for Galle District in the Super Four Provincial Tournament. Over the past two full seasons, Dilshad has backed up with another 12 wickets at 22.41, and 11 wickets at 25.63, to cement his stance as a future national prospect.

Dilshad is a high-class prospect, who is eager to play international cricket. He is a sharp left-armer, with the ability to move the ball on unresponsive pitches (see the video in this profile).

In 2019, he embarked on his maiden UK stint, and, unsurprisingly, he impressed in the Derbyshire League, helping his side to promotion to the ECB Premier League, taking 49 wickets at 16.02.

The Sri Lankan star is now eager to return abroad and is ideally seeking a club in Australia or New Zealand for the 2022/23 season.
