Nimanda Madushanka is an exciting cricketer ideally suited to white-ball cricket. His fearless approach and all-round skillset make him a player first on many a side’s team sheet.

Madushanka is a genuine all-rounder currently playing for the star-studded Burgher Recreation Club. A sharp medium-pacer and hard-hitting batter, the all-rounder made his first-class debut for Nondescripts in 2014/15, but made his mark on domestic cricket following his move to Badureliya Sports Club in 2016/17.

The explosive batter announced his Badureliya arrival with a blistering century (126) against an international-laden Tamil Union bowling attack that featured Chamika Karunaratne, Ramith Rambukwell, and Jeewan Mendis. He spent two seasons with Badureliya before stints with Moors (2018/19-19/20), Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club (2020/21-22/23), prior to his move to current club Burgher (2023/24).

Whilst Madushanka hasn’t set the world alight in first-class, he has been outstanding in white ball cricket, particularly with the ball, with List A and T20 averages of 16.18, and 14.71, respectively.

Perhaps Madushanka's domestic highlight to date came during the 2018/19 T20 final. He averaged 38.66 and 24.42 with bat and ball respectively, throughout the campaign. However, he saved his best performance for the final, guiding his side to victory off the final ball with Madushanka top-scoring with a 23-ball 47 with 4 sixes.

The Sri Lankan all-rounder has also been a stand-out abroad. During his maiden stint (2021), he excelled for St. Peter's in the Sussex League. It's fair to say, the heavy-hitter dominated the run charts, finishing as the third leading run-scorer in the Sussex League (across all divisions) with 870 runs at 72.50, all with a strike rate of 135.51, not to mention a few wickets along the way.

Following his outstanding maiden UK stint, St. Peter's was swift to re-sign their Sri Lankan star for their 2022 campaign. Unfortunately, Madushanka failed to replicate his success, hitting 659 runs at 29.95 and struggling with the ball only taking 12 wickets. Nevertheless, he returned in 2023, this time to play for Old Wulfrunians Tettenhall in the South Staffordshire League. He struck 443 runs at 24.61 and shone with the ball bagging 24 wickets at 21.54.

The hard-hitting all-rounder is now eager to return for another UK stint in 2024, and is hoping to revert back to his St. Peter's form of old. A player we strongly recommend.
