Nisala Tharaka is a seasoned Sri Lankan seam-bowling all-rounder with a wealth of experience, having featured in over 260 domestic matches. A skilful right-arm pacer, Tharaka has consistently impressed across formats, claiming 268 wickets at 30.98 in first-class cricket, 101 wickets at 30.81 in List A, and 48 wickets at an exceptional 21.25 in T20s.

But Tharaka isn’t just a bowler—he’s a genuine lower-middle-order threat with the bat, boasting a century (107) and 13 half-centuries in domestic cricket. His all-round abilities have made him a vital contributor for Sri Lanka A between 2014/15 and 2024/25, as well as for multiple club sides, most recently Panadura Sports Club.

Tharaka has also made his mark in league cricket abroad. In the South Yorkshire League for Conisbrough (2017), he starred with 56 wickets at 19.02 and 925 runs at 33.04. Later, he played a key role in Seaham Harbour’s promotion in the Durham & North East Premier League (2021), scoring 802 runs at 47.18 and taking 34 wickets at 15.12.

Among his career highlights, Tharaka notably dismissed England stars Denly and Stokes while representing a Sri Lankan XI against the touring side in March 2020—a testament to his skill at the highest level.

Now seeking new opportunities abroad, Tharaka is one of the most accomplished seam-bowling all-rounders available for the 2026 season—a proven match-winner with both bat and ball.

Nisala is now set to head to the UK once more after signing with Keswick CC for their 2026 Cumbria Cricket League campaign.
