Sudara Dakshina is an experienced left-arm spinner who has enjoyed significant success in Sri Lankan provincial cricket.
He made his first-class debut in 2016/17, bagging an impressive 19 wickets at 14.10, then backed-up with a further 29 wickets at 21.37 the following season.
Unfortunately, despite his exploits, Dakshina has struggled for regular game time for Sri Lankan Navy given the strength and depth of the squads spinners.
Last summer (2022/23), he decided to move clubs and enjoyed immediate success for Kalutara Town Club (KTC), bagging 6-81 on debut.
To date, Dakshina has taken 58 wickets at 20.86 in 13 first-class games, not to mention plenty of success in white ball cricket.
The Sri Lankan star is now eager to spend a summer abroad, following his maiden UK stint with Bradford League club Methley in 2019 (29 wickets at 22.69).
He has targeted a season playing club cricket in Australia (ideally Melbourne) for the 2023/24 season.
