Tinu Kundu is an exceptional left-arm spinner playing for Haryana in Ranji Trophy cricket.

The Indian sensation broke into the State side in November 2018, following dominant performances for the Under-23s, in both the Inter-State One Day Competition and CK Nayudu Trophy (2017/18). In the latter, he was Haryana’s chief wicket-taker, including best figures of 4-21 (19), and 5-23 (17) vs Kerala U23s.

It didn’t take long for Kundo to make an impression in the senior side, taking his maiden 10-wicket haul in only his fourth Ranji Trophy match. The left-arm tweaker bagged figures of 6-60 (18.3), and 5-35 (14.3) v Services (Jan 2019), and went on to close out the 2018/19 campaign with 24 wickets at 13.20.

In the following Ranji season (2019/20), Kunda continued to impress, taking two further 5-wicket hauls, namely 5-25 (16) vs Orissa, and 5-35 (11.3) vs Assam, respectively. The Haryana star finished with 22 wickets at 16.81. Surprisingly, though, Kunda only played 1 first-class match during the most recent 2022 Ranji season.

Having enjoyed significant success early into his domestic career, Kundu is keen to showcase his talents abroad. He is currently playing for Driffield Town in the Yorkshire Premier League North, but would like to explore opportunities down under thereafter.
