Aldershot delighted with Rory's return - 12/01/15

Rory CollinsALDERSHOT are delighted to announce the re-signing of their Australian star Rory Collins for next season.

Collins was an integral part of Aldershot's 2014 campaign hitting 487 runs at 34.79 in Division 2B of the Thames Valley Cricket League.

London-based Aussie Rory Collins (24) is a talented wicket-keeper batsman who has played over 50 1st XI games in the  Victorian Premier League for Dandenong (2009/10), Essendon (2010/11-2012/13) and Greenvale Kangaroos (2013/14).

In his debut season for Dandenong he kept wicket to Australian speedster James Pattinson, struck a top score of 94 and averaged 28.67.

He spent the next three seasons at Essendon, striking 338 runs at 18.88 with a high of 84 in 2012/13 before his move to the Kangaroos in 2013/14, where he kept wicket to Big Bash spinners Carl Sandri and Dan Salpietro.

Collins has now spent two seasons abroad, namely in Vancouver’s (Canada) BCMCL Elite Division for Meraloma Cricket Club in 2012, then last summer for Aldershot.

He is hoping to help the club to to acheive a much higher position on the table this summer, after their 8th place in the 10-team division last year.
