Beckington bag Aussie ace - 24/01/16

BECKINGTON have signed Australian Brad Aldous for their 2016 Wiltshire League campaign.

Aldous (23) is has played first grade for Wests in the Newcastle and District Cricket Association since his debut season back in 2012/13.

The right-arm seamer took 40 wickets at 11.70 across all formats for the club in his maiden season to include 21 wickets at 7.76 to win the NDCA 2nd Grade Bowling Average award.

He took 12 wickets at 18.25 in first-grade and was also West’s Under-21 “Player of the Year” courtesy of 7 wickets at 8.

In 2014/15 Aldous continued to excel, taking 31 wickets at 17.23 in first-grade including two 5-wicket hauls. His best bowling figures (7-30) earned him the Carlton Mid Regional Player of the Round.

Aldous spent the 2015 UK season playing in the North Wales ECB Premier League for Pontblyddyn, taking 32 wickets at 25.38 and also weighing in with 246 runs at 18.92. 

He will now return to the UK in 2016 for Beckington in the Wiltshire County Cricket League's first division.
