Boston have signed Sri Lankan domestic T20 star Adeesha Thilanchana for their upcoming Lincolnshire Premier League season.

Thilanchana (23) is an exciting prospect playing for the star-studded Moors Sports Club in Sri Lanka. An explosive batsman and skilful left-arm seamer, Thilanchana has played 45 matches across the three formats, but it’s in T20 cricket he’s excelled.

Since joining Moors in 2017/18, he has taken 20 wickets at 13.10 in Sri Lanka’s T20 Tournaments (8 wickets at 9.75 in 2017/18 and 12 wickets at 15.33 in 2018/19).

He finished as the Tournaments leading wicket-takers – coincidently, only 1 wicket shy of joint second, the spot occupied by several bowlers including CricX stars Pulina Tharanga and Umega Chathuranga.

Showing his all-round ability, Thilanchana also opened the batting for Moors, producing several notable innings, striking at well over 125.

Whilst he has yet to replicate his bowling success in the longer formats, he has shown glimpse of his potential, especially with the bat, hitting half-centuries in both first-class and List A cricket in recent years.

The talented all-rounder is a potential national T20 player and is eager to showcase his skills abroad this summer having recently signed for Boston Cricket Club, to replace original pro Ishan Jayaratne, who has secured a SLC contract.

Thilanchana will be looking to impress in the Lincolnshire County Board Premier League this summer.
