Bracebridge Heath line up Indian run machine - 04/02/19

Kumar Deobrat

Bracebridge Heath have signed Indian run-machine Kumar Deobrat for their 2019 season.

Deobrat (26) is a former Indian Under-19 player who enjoyed a barnstorming Ranji Trophy campaign in 2018/19.

Playing for Jharkhand, the explosive batsman and useful medium-pacer, struck 631 runs at 57.36 with a highest score of 150 against Tripura.

He became one of the most consistent batsman on the circuit compiling scores of 48* (v Goa), 29, 37 (v Odisha), 33, 78 (v Uttar Pradesh), 48, 53 (v Services), 150, 38 (v Tripura) and 74 (v Jammu & Kashmir) in successive games.

Leading into the 2018/19 season, Deobrat had yet to cement his spot in the Jharkhand squad, but after his prolific Ranji season, he now seems destined for higher honours.

He has already experienced national recognition, playing for India Under-19s in several victorious sides, to include the U19 quadrangular series (in India 2011) and U19 quadrangular series (in Australia 2012) before winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy (2011) and Deodhar Trophy (for East Zone in 2014).

The Jharkhand star has recently signed with Bracebridge Heath and is keen to showcase his skills in the Lincolnshire County Board Premier League this coming summer.
