Bramhall sign Hawkesbury star Dale McKay - 29/11/14

Dale McKay BRAMHALL have signed last season's Cricket NSW scholar and Liverpool League's leading run scorer Dale McKay.

McKay (22) is quite the prospect who has represented New South Wales through the age-groups and has become a stand-out performer for Hawkesbury in the Sydney Grade Competition.

Courtesy of his Grade exploits, the workman-like batsman gained selection for the NSW Under-23s in October 2013. He struck a fine 50 on debut against Victoria in the State Futures League competition.

Residing in Sydney’s Western Suburbs, McKay has spent his entire career at Hawkesbury. He started playing Grade cricket at 16 and has become an integral member of the Hawkesbury first-grade side over the past four years. McKay has predominantly filled the number three spot, where he has 3 first-grade hundreds.

In 2014, McKay was awarded the BBM Scholarship by Cricket NSW and spent the season playing for Formby in division one of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition. He topped the run charts (1,042 runs at 57.89) to include four centuries and helped push Formby to promotion into the ECB Premier League in 2015.

Given his success home and abroad in recent years, McKay has been a player in high demand from UK clubs. However, he will spend next season playing in the Cheshire Premier League for Bramhall and is hoping to replicate his run scoring exploits once again in 2015.
