Broseley bag Boland quick - 18/02/16

Charl Cyster

BROSELEY sign pace bowling all-rounder Charl Cyster for their 2016 campaign in the Shropshire County League's top tier.

Cyster (21) is currently involved with the Boland Academy and a is non-contracted player with the Boland Amateur Provincial squad.

He recently played for the Cape Cobras Cubs (Under-23s) in the Franchise Colts tournament in Southern Cape, where he opened the bowling and batted 8.

He plays his club cricket in the Boland Premier League for Coronation Cricket Club. Since making his 1st XI debut as a 16-year-old in 2010, he has since won a raft of awards courtesy of his all-round exploits.

From 2011/12 and 2014/15, he was named the club’s “best all-rounder” and in 2012/13 and 2014/15 was also named “player of the year”.

He has produced some tremendous Premier performances, most notably bowling figures of 5-29 (10) against Paarl and 76 vs. Brackenfell. Whilst skippering his Kylemore Senior Secondary School, he also belted the schools fastest T20 century, scoring 120* from only 42 balls.

Cyster is an incredibly talented cricketer, regarded as one of, if not the quickest bowler in the Boland Premier League. He aspires to break into first-class cricket shortly and make a career out of the great game.

Cyster will have big boots to fill this summer when he replaces the injured Neil Jordan for Broseley in the Shropshire County League's Premier Division.
