Broxbourne bag young Auckland all-rounder - 04/02/16

Anubhav Thapa

BROXBOURNE have signed exciting Kiwi prospect Anubhav Thapa for their campaign in Hertfordshire Cricket League's Division 1.

Thapa (18), who was born in Nepal and started playing for Ellerslie at 10 years old, is currently involved with the Future Developing Auckland Squad for the 2015/16 season.

The genuine all-rounder represented Auckland through the age-groups and was a key member of their championship winning Under-17 and 19 sides.

Thapa credits his development to Blackcaps legend Martin Crowe, who was appointed his personal mentor in 2014. He has shaped his game from an out-and-out batsman, to a genuine all-rounder who, in 2014 and 2015, has averaged 20 and 15 with an economy rate of under 2.5 in one-day cricket.

He toured England in 2015 playing against some of the countries best cricketing schools including Eton, Harrow, Eastbourne and Hurstpierpoint to name but a few, thoroughly enjoying his success and experience.

Thapa has now set his sights on the UK where he'll play for Broxbourne in Division 1 of the Hertfordshire Cricket League this summer.
