Cheltenham are delighted to confirm young South African star Josh Breed will return for their Premier campaign in 2019.

Breed (19) is an outstanding prospect, who excelled for Cheltenham last summer. His exploits helped the club to the Prem 2 (Glos/Wilts) title and promotion to the West of England Premier League top tier (Prem 1) in 2019.

The South African young gun finished last summer as the 6th leading run-scorer across all WEPL divisions - 3rd in the Glos/Wilts comp with 703 runs at 70.30. He also captured 31 wickets at 17.48 - 4th on the division wicket charts.

Courtesy of his exploits, he also trained with Gloucestershire, represented their under-19s and played for the Worcestershire Academy, with success, to include 34-ball 56 in a T20 against Warwickshire U19s.

Breed, who plays Premier League cricket for Claremont in the Western Province Cricket Association, joined Cheltenham following a glittering junior career, at both school and age-group provincial level.

A genuine all-rounder, Breed bats in the top-order, bowls leg-spin and was one of the most capped (139), and statistically one of the best, players in Wynberg Boys' 1st XI (Jacques Kallis' alma mater) history.

Breed represented Western Province at every age-group level, to include Coke Week (U19) and was a member of WP's Under-23 Academy.

The talented youngster is delighted to have re-signed for Cheltenham and is looking forward to testing himself in the WEPL top flight in 2019.
