COOKHAM DEAN have signed South West Districts' batsman Chris Marrow for their 2017 TVCL campaign.

Marrow (20) is a British Passport holding wicket-keeper batsman playing for SWD in South African domestic cricket. He has played 13 times across the three formats for SWD, including 6 first-class matches.

The youngster earned his selection courtesy of his exploits at age-group level for SWD and the Warriors Cubs.

A schoolboy prodigy, Marrow enjoyed a sparkling junior career for Oakhill School, breaking numerous records including most 1st XI centuries (7) and the highest individual score (154*).

He also represented the Warriors Cubs and South West Districts through the age-groups, including the past two Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Week’s.

Marrow was vice captain for SWD Under-19s during the 2013 Coke Week which saw him top the side’s run aggregate and averages (166 runs at 55.33 including a highest score of 83*) to finish 8th overall respectively.

He has also spent the past two seasons plying his trade abroad with success - initially for Dukinfield in the Lancashire County League (674 runs at 32.10), then last summer with Northern Premier League club Penrith (530 runs at 48.18).

The dual Passport holding run machine has recently signed with Cookham Dean who will be hoping to avenge their Home Counties Premier League relegation last season, when they play in the Thames Valley League in 2017.
