Dyson eager to clean up on Wath return - 06/12/14

Shawn Dyson SOUTH YORKSHIRE Premier League club Wath have re-signed South African Shawn Dyson for their 2015 season.

Dyson spent the 2013 season playing second fiddle to Derek Mitchell for Wath, as their 2nd XI overseas player. He impressed, taking 58 league wickets at 14.21 alongside 457 runs at 26.88 with the bat. Courtesy of his success, Wath have re-signed the South African all-rounder to make the step up to their 1st XI in 2015. 

The 26-year-old is a genuine all-rounder who represented Western Province at Under-13, 14 and 15 levels and was a key performer for the Rondebosch Boys High School 1st XI (2005/06).

He spent the following two years playing first team cricket for Montrose, before moving to his current club – Western Province in 2009/10.

Dyson has since progressed through to the first team and is now an integral member of a side that includes first-class players Justin Kemp, Clyde Fortuin, SA Engelbrecht, Travis Muller and former South Yorkshire Cricket League star Derek Mitchell (and has previously included Sussex Michael Rippon, Kirk Wernars and Chris Nash).
