Ekstraal headed for Hunslet Nelson - 11/02/15

Warren EkstraalHUNSLET NELSON have secured the services of South African all-rounder Warren Ekstraal for the 2015 season.

Ekstraal (23) is a leg-spin bowling all-rounder who has represented South West Districts through the age-groups and has been involved with both Western and Eastern Province Cricket Academies respectively.

He plays his club cricket in the Western Province Cricket Association and last season was a key member of the St. Augustine Cricket Club who won the WPCA 1B championship.

The talented all-rounder, who is the younger brother of former SWD first-class player and CricX client Denovan enjoyed a fantastic maiden season abroad for Hampshire League’s Waterlooville Cricket Club in 2014.

In all formats for the club he churned out 1353 runs at 48.32 alongside 41 wickets at 21.14. In Division 3 of the Southern Premier League, Ekstraal scored two centuries amongst 609 runs at 50.75 top finish top of the division run charts. He also was 7th in terms of wickets with 23 scalps at 21.13.

Its the mannor in which he's scored his runs that particularly impressed, with numerous innings scored at more than run-a-ball, including a 74-ball 120 against St Cross Symondians (where he also took 5-51) and a 58-ball 98 vs Tichborne Park in the league.

Ekstraal is hoping to replicate his success in the Central Yorkshire Premier League for Hunslet Nelson in 2015.
