Grahamstown's Fletcher heads to Cheshire - 23/01/16

LYMM OUGHTRINGTON PARK have signed South African batsman Jonathan Fletcher following promotion into the CCL's top flight.

Fletcher (23) recently struck a career-best 155 playing for the Pineapple XI against Ngumbele XI and his innings culminated with selection for the Eastern Cape Districts side.

The left-handed batsman relocated to Grahamstown (Eastern Cape) in recent years, following a junior career in Limpopo. He represented the province through the age-groups and was a stand-out for Merensky High School.

Since leaving school, he has played for Sidbury CC (the 4th oldest club in South Africa) and, playing in the Grahamstown Farmers League, Fletcher has scored well over 1,000 runs averaging a tick over 50 sice the 2014/15 season.

He has also played a season abroad back in 2011 for Scottish National League (top flight) club Stoneywood-Dyce.

Fletcher will now return to the UK to play for newly promoted Lymm Oughtrington Park in Division 1 of the Cheshire Cricket League.
