Hartsholme sign Essendon's Matt Worsnop - 05/02/15

Matt WorsnopHARTSHOLME have signed Essendon all-rounder Matthew Worsnop ahead of their 2015 season.

Worsnop (22) is a genuine all-rounder currently into his third season’s grade cricket in the strong Victorian Premier League.

He plays for the star-studded Essendon club, whose marquee players include Aiden Blizzard (Sydney Thunder), Louis Cameron (Victorian Bushrangers) and Clint McKay (Australia).

Worsnop is a hard-hitting batsman and genuine seamer who clocks mid-70s. He has played 46 grade matches and averages 22.96 and 24.27 with bat and ball respectively, albeit 32.57 and 16.76 this summer to date. Worsnop has featured in the Premier 2nds for Essendon, although predominantly plays in the 3rds and 4ths.

Worsnop is a talented cricketer who will return to the UK to play in the Lincolnshire County League for Hartsholme in 2015 after a prolific summer in England last year.

He finished amongst the leading run-scorers in the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket League whilst playing for Melton Mowbray.

He churned out 1,014 runs at 72.42 including three centuries and highest score of 158 not out. He also picked up 38 wickets at 12.89 including best bowling figures of 5-11.

He was equally impressive in the Sunday competition hitting 552 runs at 78.86 alongside 20 wickets at 13.05.
