Khan returns to promoted Bamford Fieldhouse - 09/11/16

BAMFORD FIELDHOUSE have re-signed spin bowling star Babar Khan following promotion into the GMCL's top tier.

Khan (35) is a Birmingham-based English qualified leg-spinner who was the Birmingham League’s leading wicket-taker between 2008 and 2012 (289 wickets at 11.03 including twenty 5-wicket hauls).

In 2013 He captured an incredible 93 wickets at 7.85 (including seven 5-wicket hauls) for Bamford Fieldhouse (Saddleworth and District League) before a further 115 wickets at 15.07 for Newcastle and Hartshill in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League in 2014-15.

During the same summer he also took season-best figures of 9-7-8-6 against Liverpool League's Highfield in the National Knock-Out.

In 2014, he continued to shine, this time helping Newcastle and Hartshill Championship to the Championship Division 1A title courtesy of 61 wickets at 10.98 including four 5-wicket hauls, economy rate of 2.16 and best bowling figures of 6-23.

After re-signing to play in the Premier in 2015, he finished third on the wicket charts with 54 wickets at 19.69 with another four 5-wicket hauls.

Following his two season stint with Newcastle and Hartshill, Khan returned to Bamford Fieldhouse and helped the club to first team glory. His 44 wickets at 10.73 helped the side win Division 1 of the inaugural Greater Manchester Cricket League.

In 2017 Khan will return to Bamford Fieldhouse who following their promotion.
