Former County run machine joins Linden Park - 30/10/15

Linden Park have signed ex-County star Scott Newman for their 2016 Kent Cricket League campaign.

Newman was a prolific County batsman for over a decade (2001-12), playing 306 domestic matches across the three formats and scoring 12,834 runs to include 20 centuries.

He scored 8,630 first-class runs averaging 38.18 with 16 hundreds and highest score of 219.

During a 5-year period (2004-08), Newman was one of the most impressive batsmen on the County circuit, scoring 5,823 runs at 43.45 including 12 centuries.

In addition, over 106 List-A matches he scored a total of 2,967 runs at 29.96 which included 4 hundreds.

Seeking pastures new, Newman has recently agreed terms Linden Park which will see the former County batsman play in Division 1 of the Kent Cricket League next summer.
