Taimur Sultan Profile

Nutbrook have snapped up WAPDA batsman Taimoor Sultan for their 2019 Derbyshire County League season.

Sultan (24) is a talented batsman who has spent the past few years playing for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited before his move to Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for the current 2018/19 season.

He shot to prominence last summer, hitting his maiden century (102) in his second first-class match against a Faisaland attack featuring Mohammad Talha and Saeed Ajmal.

Courtesy of this innings, and his obviously talent, he was shortly picked up at auction as Peshawar Zalmi’s “Silver” category pick, for the PSL (Pakistan Super League) in February 2018.

The promising batsman, who bowls useful off-spin, rubbed shoulders with Zalmi team-mates including superstars Darren Sammy, Chris Jordan, Dwayne Bravo and Shakib al Hassan during the PSL and much is expected of the talented youngster in future.

In a view to continuing his development, Sultan has recently signed with Derbyshire League club Nutbrook, in what will be his maiden UK league stint.
