Austin PruthabBRIXWORTH have signed former KwaZulu-Natal age-group batsman Austin Pruthab for the 2015 summer.

Pruthab (19) is a hard-hitting opening batsman and change seamer playing in the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union – Castle Premier League.

The batting all-rounder switched to current club DHS Rhythem this summer, having previously played for the star-studded Delta club – a side that has, in recent years, boasted first-class players including Wayne Lombard, Kushen Kishen, Ravi Reddy, Faeez Khan, Nabeel Bhayla, Craig Woods (KwaZulu-Natal), Shaun Simpson, Martin Bekker, Kimeshin Chetty (Dolphins) and South African A players Keshav Maharaj and Daryn Smit.

Pruthab has enjoyed significant success over the past few years at Premier level to include four notable hundreds (163*, 134, 127 and 119*). He also averaged upwards of 60 during the 2014 calendar year.

A product of the prestigious Durham High School (DHS), Pruthab was instrumental in guiding the 1st XI to the number six ranked school in South Africa in 2012.

In December that year, he gained further representative honours, by playing for KwaZulu-Natal at the CSA Under-17s week, having represented the Under-13s and Under-15s previously.

He was also selected for a South African Under-17 talent camp and is now eager to progress to higher honours with Dolphins selection in future.

In a view to improving his game, he will join Brixworth in 2015 for their Northamptonshire Premier League campaign.
