Sushant Balajee

ROWLEDGE have signed Wellington prospect Sushant Balajee ahead of their SEPCL 2016 campaign.

Balajee (21) is quite the prospect coming through the Wellington ranks in New Zealand. He has represented the province through the age-groups, to include three years with the Wellington Under-20s (2010-13).

He skippered the Hutt Valley School 1st XI to both the one and two-day competitions, then guided the side to fourth in the Gillette Cup nationwide school tournament.

He was one of the top run scorers and wicket-takers in Wellington and was subsequently picked as one of three finalists for the “Wellington Cricketer of the Year” in 2012.

Thereafter, he made a successful transition into Premier club cricket in Wellington, firstly for North City and more recently for Victoria University, where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

In 2014/15, during his maiden stint for University, he finished amongst the top 10 run scorers in the Men’s Premier Grade Competition.

Balajee will make his UK debut for Southern Electric Premier League club Rowledge who will continue their campaign in Division 1.
