SHAPWICK & POLDEN have signed promising Northern Districts batsman Chris Graser for their WEPL campaign.

Graser (19) is a precocious batting talent who recently concluded his maiden season for Northern Districts Jets, in the SACA Grade Competition following his move from Tea Tree Gully.

He played predominantly 2nd Grade all season, averaging just under 20 in a club that can boast the likes of Joe Gatting (Sussex), Mark Cosgrove (South Australia, Leicestershire), Chris Duval (South Australia) and Sarah Taylor (England Womans).

Graser had previously spent five years with Tea Tree Gully, from juniors through to 2nd Grade. He scored 1,594 runs at 24.15, to include a prolific 2014/15 season churning out 419 runs at 34.92, including a career-best 144.

A hugely promising junior, Graser progressed through Tea Tree Gully's grades. He averaged 33.33 and 32.75 during the SACA BankSA Shield Under-17s in 2011/2 and 2012/13 respectively. He claimed the Matthew Robinson Award for the “Best Under-17 Player” for TTGCC.

Last summer, Graser headed to the UK and struck 317 runs at 22.64 in the Lincolnshire ECB Premier League for Skegness.

He has recently agreed a return, this time to Shapwick and Polden in the West of England Premier League second tier.
