SJ back to the Bridge - 29/01/15

SJ ErweeWEYBRIDGE have re-signed their prolific South African star SJ Erwee for a third season in 2015.

Erwee (25) hit the headlines for Weybridge courtesy of his record-breaking season in the Surrey Championship in 2013.

The left-hander broke the Ryman Surrey Championship record for the number of consecutive hundreds, hitting scores of 110, 129, 116 and 140. He topped the Premier run-charts with 974 runs at 64.93.

In all cricket for Weybridge, Erwee churned out 1,680 runs at 84 with 7 centuries including a highest score of 203*. He also weighed in with 30 wickets at 22.90.

He returned last season and whilst he failed to reach the dizzy heights of his opening season with Weybridge, he still racked up 584 runs at 38.93 in addition to 14 wickets.

In his homeland, Erwee has played 42 first-class games scoring 2,245 runs at 35.07 alongside 634 runs at 31.70 in 23 List-A matches.

He plays for KwaZulu-Natal Inland and, towards the back-end of last summer made his Dolphins debut in South Africa's Supersport Series.

Erwee will be hoping to replicate his form from his maiden stint at the Bridge during their push for the Premiership in 2015.
