Successive tons for Coggeshall's Cleaver - 18/08/14

Dane Cleaver Batting CD Stags' batsman Dane Cleaver blasted successive centuries this weekend for club side Coggeshall Town.

Cleaver continues his stellar season which sees him top both the Two Counties (868 runs at 54.25) and Piri Piri North Essex Cricket League (480 runs at 240) run charts.

On Saturday he struck a brilliant 104-ball 119 (9x4s, 4x6s) to help guide his Coggeshall side to a competitive 228-8 from 50 overs. In reply, Sudbury were all out for 181 in 44.1 overs which sees Cleaver's side supersede Sudbury into second place on the Two Counties Division One table, 24 points behind Frinton-on-Sea.

On Sunday, playing in the North Essex 20-over league, Cleaver blitzed an incredible 171 not out helping Coggeshall rack up a mammouth 273 for the loss of only 1 wicket. The opposition side Mistley produced a brave chase, but ultimately fell short posting 197-6 in their 20 over reply.

It has been a run-filled maiden season abroad for the Central Districts and former New Zealand Under-19 batsman and with a handful of games left, no doubt more runs will be on the cards.
