Zandre Swartz

Wellington have signed former first-class wicket-keeper batsman Zandre Swartz for their 2016 WEPL campaign.

Swartz (24) spent the 2015 season playing for Pwllheli in the North Wales ECB Premier League, striking 514 runs at 28.56.

During the season he produced some quite spectacular innings, including an explosive highest score of 130* to chase down Conah's Quay's 237 inside 47 overs.

He has also played 17 domestic matches for Griqualand West between 2009/10 and 2010/11 and made his first-class debut in 2009, proceeding to play 6 matches where he averaged 15.88.

In List-A cricket, he averaged 20 over 11 matches, with the highlight his maiden fifty, a 59-ball 72* during an unbroken opening partnership of 140 with Aubrey Swanepoel.

Swartz will return to the UK in 2016 to play for Wellington in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier League.
