Thame bag birthday centurion - 31/01/17

Gamindu Kanishka

THAME TOWN have signed Sri Lankan run machine Gamindu Kanishka for their Home Counties Premier League campaign.

Kanishka, who celebrated his 30th birthday by hitting his 8th first-class century over the weekend, will join Thame Town following four previous stints abroad.

He has previously enjoyed success in the Devon (Budleigh Salterton), Kent (The Mote) and Two Counties (Fives and Heronians) Leagues and is now keen to showcase his skills in the Home Counties Premier League this summer.

Kanishka boasts a tremendous first-class record comprising 2,306 runs at 43.50 including 8 centuries and 7 fifties. He also has 8 first-class wickets at 17.87, including best bowling figures of 6-34.

The Sri Lankan run machine, who was named in the National training squad recently, is keen to impress for his new club this summer
