The Mote lock in Bushrangers Louis Cameron - 13/01/15

Louis CameronKENT LEAGUE club The Mote have pulled of a coup with the signing of Australian speedster Louis Cameron.

Cameron (22) is a right-arm seamer of some pedigree, who has represented the Victorian Bushrangers and currently plays Premier Club Cricket for Essendon.

He has represented the State in two Australian Under-19 Championships (2009, 10) then excelled for the Bushrangers 2nd XI, taking 5-for’s against NSW and Western Australia. These performances, alongside a stellar 2011/12 Premier League campaign (40 wickets at 21.08) and, coincidently an injury to mentor McKay culminated with his first-class debut.

The step up in class only seemed to motivate the ACT junior, who picked up two wickets in his opening spell against the Blues at the SCG. He finished with 3/61 from 19 overs in a match that petered out into a draw. He featured in Victoria’s next Shield match with the Redbacks, but went wicket-less.

Nevertheless, given his taste of Shield cricket, the 22-year-old is eager to fight his way back into the Bushrangers’ line-up.

He continues to churn out poles for Essendon and Victoria in the Futures League. The former Victorian Rookie is eager to impress during his maiden stint abroad for The Mote in Division One of the Kent League this season.
