ABERDEENSHIRE sign young seam bowler Jarod van Blerk for their 2017 CSL Eastern Premier Division campaign.

Van Blerk (19) has played 1st XI for Kingswood since his first year of senior school (August 2012) and, over the past two years (2015, 2016) has established himself as the “go to” opening bowler.

Van Blerk was the star of the match in 2016 against traditional arch rival school St Andrews winning the game by getting the last three wickets.

He enjoyed an outstanding 2016 season, topping Kingswood’s 1st XI wicket charts (28 wickets at 16.70).

The talented Zimbabwean-born, Zambian national was fortunate enough to go on tour with Kingswood College to Sri Lanka in 2012. He also toured to Harare, Zimbabwe in 2013 for a school St George’s T20 tournament.

Van Blerk will join Aberdeenshire in the Cricket Scotland League's Eastern Premier Division next summer and is keen to impress.
