VVV sign Ranji legend Paras Dogra - 28/12/18

Paras Dogra Profile

VVV have signed record-breaking Ranji Trophy legend Paras Dogra for their 2019 Hoofdklasse campaign.

Dogra (34) has been among the heaviest run-scorers in Indian domestic cricket through the mid-2000s to date.

He has been a pillar of Himachal Pradesh cricket, dating back to his first-class debut in 2001/02, before his move to new first-class State Puducherry in 2018/19.

In 2016/17, Dogra broke Rajeev Nayyar's record of 6,113 runs, to become the leading first-class run-scorer of all time for Himachal. He scored scored 6,418 runs at 48.62 with 19 centuries and 24 fifties for his beloved State, before his move to Puducherry this season.

Add a further 428 runs at 71.33 for North Zone, 521 runs at 86.83 for Puducherry and a couple of India A / Rest of India matches and Dogra has rattled up 7,400 runs at 50.34 with 23 hundreds (8 doubles), 25 fifties and a highest score of 230* in 101 first-class matches to date.

Dogra's recent double for Puducherry (253) broke the record for the most double centuries in Ranji Trophy history.

During his prime, he represented India A and was involved with 4 IPL franchises, namely Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Lions.

It's an incredible signing for VVV and if Dogra can reproduce his Rani runs, they'll be odds favourites for the Dutch Hoofdklasse championship in 2019.
