Werrington reel in Mt Lawley's Fishman - 20/02/15

Ian FishmanWERRINGTON have signed promising Mt Lawley swing bowler Ian Fishman for their Cornwall Premier League campaign.

Fishman (21) is a right-arm paceman who has played 40 matches in the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) for Mount Lawley District Cricket Club. He plays 2nd Grade for the mighty Hawks, whose first team includes Western Warriors’ Tom Beaton, Matt Dixon, Paul Davis and Michael Klinger.

Fishman joined the club in 2012/13 from the Warwick Cricket Club in the Northern Suburbs Cricket Association. He played the initial 8 matches in the 3rd Grade taking 23 wickets at 11.30 including best figures of 5-5, before moving up into the 2nds for the final 4 matches (15 wickets at 12.07).

In 2013/14, he picked up a further 23 wickets at 27.22 and has impressed once again into the current season with 23 wickets at 17.04 with two 5-wicket hauls all in the 2nd Grade, to include best figures of 6-53.

Over 40 matches for the Hawks, Fishman has 84 wickets at 17.37 and he is now eager to break into 1st Grade in future.

The seamer is eager to impress in the Cornwall Premier League for Werrington in 2015 and return to push for 1st Grade inclusion upon his return.
