Wests Parmakellis pens for Brooklands - 26/11/14

Emmanuel Parmakellis BROOKLANDS have signed Western Suburbs seamer Emmanuel Parmakellis for their 2015 Cheshire League campaign.

Parmakellis (25) is a seam bowling all-rounder who has played a combination of first and second grade matches for one of Australia's most successful clubs in history - Western Suburbs in the Sydney Grade Competition.

The 'Magpies' can boast some of the all time Australian greats including Bob Simpson, Greg Matthews and Adam Gilchrist. Their recent crop of internationals include Australian skipper Michael Clarke, plus fellow national players Mitch Starc and Phillip Hughes.

Parmakellis has been a consistent seamer for the Magpies in recent seasons - mainly in the second grade, albeit he has played a sprinkling of first grade games.

At the point of writing he has taken 161 wickets at 23.61 (119 at 22.39 in 2nd Grade) with 4 five-wicket hauls over 103 grade matches for Wests.

Parmakellis has also enjoyed two stints abroad, namely for Benfleet (Essex League) in 2011 and Shobrooke Park (Devon League) in 2012.

He is hoping to impress on his return to Northern shores in 2015 in an efforts to push for regular first grade inclusion in 2015/16.
