Wroxeter sign Kallis scholar Dale Brander - 30/03/16

Dale Brander

WROXETER GROVE have swooped for former Western Province age-group batsman Dale Brander.

Brander (22) is a product and Jacques Kallis scholar of the prestigious Wynberg Boys’ High School in Cape Town.

He earned 45 first team caps for the 1st XI and represented Western Province through the age-groups, to include the Coca Cola Khaya Majola week in December 2012.

A hard-working, left-handed batsman, Brander enjoyed prolific returns as a junior and has since made a successful transition into senior club cricket for Victoria, in the WPCA competition.

He has been involved with the Western Province ‘A’ side and is actively pushing for first-class honours in future.

Unfortunately though, a spate of injuries have hampered his progression over the years, but he has been injury-free for some time and is set to return to the UK to play for Wroxeter Grove (Shropshire County Cricket League), following his maiden stint for St Asaph in Wales back in 2013.

Brander is a player with massive potential and, he is eager to impress on his return to Northern shores in 2016.
