Zimbabwe star signs for Balbriggan - 16/12/16

Adam Keefe

BALBRIGGAN are delighted to announce the signing of former Zimbabwean Under-19 star Adam Keefe.

Keefe is an outstanding talent, highly recommended by Zimbabwean legend Heath Streak.

A keeper/batsman, who can also bowl reliable off-spin, Keefe played for Zimbabwe at the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh, hitting a top score of 43 (from 47 balls) during their controversial 2-run loss to the West Indies.

Keefe finished his final year at Falcon College early in 2016 and now studies full time at Griffith College in Dublin.

During his final season (2015/16), he opened the batting and topped the run charts for the 1st XI. He has also starred at provincial level, with whom he skippered scoring a best of 118* earlier in the season.

Balbriggan Secretary Roger Kear commented:

"Balbriggan are delighted to sign a player of Adam's quality and that this reinforces our commitment to our youth policy".

Keefe will be looking to impress in the Leinster Cricket Union next summer.
