Zimbabwean Marillier signs for Horsford - 11/04/13

Stephan MarillierFormer Zimbabwe A batsman Stephan Marillier has signed to play in the EAPL for Horsford this summer.

Marillier (28) will follow in the footsteps of fellow countryman Grant Flower who turned out for the Norfolk-based side back in 2006.

A talented right-hand batsman, Stephan comes from a strong cricketing background. His father Anthony and elder brother’s Eian and Doug all played first-class cricket, with the latter featuring in over 50 games for Zimbabwe in the early 2000’s.

Marillier played for the Zimbabwe Uunder-15s in 2000 and a decade on, was playing for the Zimbabwe A side against New Zealand. He played 26 first-class games in Zimbabwe hitting 1,330 runs at 29.55 with one century (148*) and 7 fifties.

He has played cricket abroad over the years, but most recently in Holland and for Wonga Park in Australia (490 runs at 37.69). Marillier is now looking forward to making an impact for Horsford in this years East Anglia Premier League season.
