CricX was founded in 2004 by Managing Director Steven Hirst with a vision to provide his native New Zealand cricketers opportunities to play league cricket in the UK. From small beginnings, the company witnessed exponential growth over the following years to establish itself as not only the UK's leading cricket agency, but global market leaders.
The early years saw a string of profile signings, including those of Chris Cairns and Tatenda Taibu that ultimately put CricX on the map. In 2007, the company became the first agency to break one hundred placements in a UK league season. The record-breaking tally was surpassed the following year, when a remarkable 249 cricketers were placed in league cricket alone. CricX have consolidated their standing in the industry ever since, with upwards of 1,000 placements over the past four years, including 265 in 2013, to break the industry record once again.
In recent years, CricX have also secured hundreds of playing deals in other territories, namely Europe, Australasia, Africa, North America and South East Asia. Our most recent signings include Windies pair Corey Collymore and Brendan Nash to Australia, in addition to the placement of numerous English County contracted players.
No other agency rivals the number of cricketers we have placed. To date, our global tally of placements exceeds 2,000 with this figure growing by the day. Our role of honour featuring our international signings over the years is shown below.
