Scott Edwards (19) is a Dutch Passport holding Australian playing with two season's experience in the Victorian Premier League. A wicket-keeper / batsman, Edwards has played 37 matches in Melbourne’s top flight district competition across the Premier 2nds (17 matches) and 3rds (20) to date scoring 775 runs at 26.72.

Edwards plays for the strong Richmond club - home to International and State players Cameron White, Daniel Christian (Australia), Will Sheridan (Victoria), Aaron O’Brien (Melbourne Renegades/South Australia), Allan Wise (Victoria/South Australia) and even a guest appearance from Kevin Pietersen prior to the Big Bash this summer. Last season (2014/15) he has scored 244 runs at 30.33 including two half-centuries and highest score of 82. He was part of the 2nds grand final win, scoring 31* amongst  246 runs at 26.72 during their flag winning campaign.

Edwards is a young prospect who moved to Richmond from local clubside Blackburn South, who play in the top tier (Ray McIntosh Shield) of the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association. From age-group into senior first-grade cricket, Edwards scored 2,604 runs at 26.57 over 147 games with the highlight scoring 155 in the BHRDCA Semi-Final in 2012/13.

He is now making his way in Grade cricket with success and is looking to break into the Premier 1sts in future. In a view to continuing his push towards higher honours, he spent the 2015 winter plying his trade in Holland for Topklasse club Excelsior '20. He scored 302 runs at 20.13, which included a quite remarkable 114-ball 122 (8x4s, 8x6s) in a total score of 178 against Hermes-DVS. The Australian was struck in the privates on 72 by Sebastiaan Braat, before switch hitting him for 6. Diagnosed with "severe internal bruising" at the hospital post match, Edwards's innings will go down as one of the best innings in Excelsior history.

After his fine summer abroad and growing reputation in Victorian Grade Cricket, Edwards is keen to return to Northern shores once again in 2016. He'd be a fantastic acquisition for any clubside next summer.
