Carl Robinson (21) is an Irish Passport holding Zimbabwe all-rounder, who has just concluded his second season's UK league cricket. Playing for North Down, in the strong Northern Cricket Union (Northern Ireland), whilst he didn't set the world alight, he produced some notable performances, to include 27 wickets at 19.22 in his opening season.

The leg-spinner and explosive left-hand batsman arrived having spent the winter plying his trade in Australia for Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association club Red Hill for the 2016/17 season (13 wickets at 26.31) and where he's set to spend the 2018/19 summer.

A schoolboy prodigy, Robinson was part of the Zimbabwe squad for the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2016. A tall leg-spin bowling all-rounder, Robinson comes highly recommended by Zimbabwe legend Brendan Taylor.

A player of considerable talent, Robinson is a graduate of the prestigious Peterhouse Boys’ School in Zimbabwe. He was one of the 1st XI’s shining lights. In 2014/15, he took 49 wickets at 13.45 and scored 693 runs at 36.47 for Peterhouse against the best school's in Zimbabwe and a few in South Africa, namely Michaelhouse, Kearnsey, Pietermaritzurg, Hilton and St. Andrews. Incredibly, during this season Robinson went wicket-less in only 2 of his 23 matches. The trend continued during the 2015/16 season, culminating with provincial and national age-group selection.

Robinson also spent the 2016 English season playing for Congresbury in the Bristol and District Cricket Association. He excelled, hitting a highest score of 166, an innings that included an incredible 17 sixes, amongst a season tally of 435 runs at 43.50 in addition to 24 wickets at 19.25. A fantastic maiden stint abroad and courtesy of his success, he was picked up by Australian club Red Hill (MPCA) for the 2016/17 season.

Robinson though, who obtained his Irish Passport in 2017, is keen to utilise this and play cricket in Ireland again in 2019. He would like to play Premier cricket, in a view to breaking into the national side in future. A high quality prospect, one we strongly recommend.
