Danyaal Khalid is a highly talented top-order batter from Luton, England, who has built an impressive cricketing résumé through county, university, National Counties, and premier club cricket.
Currently representing Moorlands Cricket Club in the Huddersfield Premier League, Danyaal relocated to Leeds to pursue his university studies and has continued his rise as one of the country's exciting young batters.
A former Middlesex County Cricket Club Academy player, Danyaal finished as the Academy's leading run-scorer across all three formats in 2022, amassing 699 runs at an average of 38.83, including a superb unbeaten 111 against Sussex*. His performances earned him a Middlesex Second XI debut against Lancashire County Cricket Club in May 2022, before going on to represent the county throughout the remainder of the season.
Prior to moving to Leeds, Danyaal was a regular member of Harpenden Cricket Club First XI, where he scored 1,300 runs at an average of 36.21 across the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons.
His outstanding club form has continued in recent years. During the 2024 season, representing Pudsey Congs Cricket Club and Flitwick Cricket Club, he accumulated 894 runs at an average of 38, including one century and three half-centuries. In 2025, he joined Tickhill Cricket Club, adding a further 450 runs across 21 innings.
Now with Moorlands, Danyaal has started the current season in outstanding fashion, scoring just shy of 400 runs from his opening 12 innings.
Danyaal also boasts valuable overseas experience, having spent the 2022/23 winter with Lancaster Park Cricket Club in the Christchurch Metro Premier League. There, he scored 676 runs at an average of 35.58, including five half-centuries, while also offering useful right-arm off-spin and outstanding fielding, particularly inside the ring.
Alongside his club cricket, Danyaal studies at the University of Leeds and is a member of the Leeds Bradford UCCE programme, competing in the BUCS National Championship against the country's leading universities and First-Class county sides.
He is also a key member of Bedfordshire County Cricket Club, having represented the National Counties side for the past four seasons and becoming an integral part of their batting lineup.
