McMurran has developed through the Yorkshire CCC ranks, representing the county at all age groups from u10s to 18s level. After impressing on the Emerging Players Programme in 2022, he earned himself an Academy contract for Yorkshire CCC in 2023 and has also represented their Second XI numerous times over the last 2 seasons. With a high score of 45 not out and picking up a handful of 2 wicket hauls.

2022 really was a breakout year for the young all-rounder, he broke into Bradford Premier League powerhouses Methley Cricket Clubs 1st XI on a regular basis and also was the leading wicket taker for the Yorkshire Academy side. The quick also represented North of England 17s and was one of the standout players at the National Super 4s comp.

2023 was another standout year for the all-rounder picking up over 50 wickets at 20 for Methley & Yorkshire Academy. Before embarking on a trip to Melbourne to play for Surrey Hills in the Eastern Cricket Association, where he had an impressive season as an 18 year old, taking 23 wickets at 20 and chipping in with 213 runs at 21.

The Englishman will be returning overseas having signed for Richmond City Cricket Club in the Cricket Southern Bayside competition.
